Article critique over M Pressley's piece "A few things reading educators should know about instructional experiments"

- large misconception: there is a limited number of instructional forms that are scientifically validation

- be careful of investigators claiming a method or program produces "superior achievement"

Look for peer reviews in the research that is cited

Lots of people from special education and the medical community were part of National English review of pedagogy
- many special ed folks have a diagnose, treat, and generalize to all students in the grade level is problematic

people who are really in the field of reading need to be the ones cited
