508 standard (Addressing accessiblity issues with Dreamweaver)

Canada has higher / tougher standard

Lots of commonly used web technologies affect accessibility

accessiblity means letting

-there are no magic fixes for accessiblity

- nobody is 100% compliant, law says you have to be 'conforming' heading toward
compliance

IBM has a free page reader software to read you any
- window eyes
- are several for the Mac platform

Accessiblity extension is free (another
-GCN evaluted DW the best, there is another option that costs 10K!

Extension lets you enable and disable extensions
- after you run a check, you can save a report, then open all your problem list

Find the highest number count error and start with that one
- can get more info about any problems

Can also install 'LIFT' software to evaluate and fix content LIVE
- that is a paid service

flash can use tab as an action script trigger
- click on the flash window to take control of the content
- then use the TAB key
- can use audio substitutes triggered by action scripts

Need to get at 'fla' file itself not just .swf file to make these accessiblity
changes to Flash
